Rapid Manufacturing produces serial plastic parts meeting the high needs of the surgery

Challenge

Surgeons need natural light in the operating room in order not to fatigue during long lasting medical interventions. The Bern based company Asetronics Advanced Swiss Electronics developed an LED operation lamp producing daylight for stress-free seeing. The assembly of the lamp requires complex plastic parts in higher volumes. At the same time, sales forecasting is extremely difficult in the complex medical device market – therefore flexible production possibilities are highly requested. Injection moulding unfortunately can’t offer this requested flexibility – especially with small complex parts.
